Merry Christmas Pt. 3

I am a little late on this...
I blame it on being busy
and being sick.

But, this was our Christmas morning.
Daddy helping her open gifts.
For the first 5 or so.
After that, she only cared about
what her brothers were opening. :-)
This gift was a Barbie.
She loves her Barbie.

Merry Christmas Pt. 2

We had a family Christmas party today.
There was some great food.
Great conversation.
Awesome gifts for the kids.
Fun gift game for the grown-ups.
AJIG's favorite part:
the stairs from the kitchen to the living room.
I swear, she went up and down them about 80 times.
Fun was had by all ♥

Merry Christmas

We have our Christmas nightgown.
Freshly bathed.
Barrette in the hair.
But, we have to wait
for the boys to be here
for Santa to come.
We'll be doing this tomorrow night
and Sunday night too ♥

These Boots Were Made For Walkin'

Ok, technically, they're shoes.
But, How Cute Is She?? ♥

She has this new obsession with shoes.
Hers.
Mine.
Aunt Sara's.
Even her daddy's.

And that's her,

Christmas Past

Bad mommy hasn't uploaded any new pictures
because she can't find her camera cord.
So, we will look back, instead:

How much difference a year makes.
My baby is no longer a baby.
And I have lost people I can never replace.
I am so sad, and yet so happy.
I cherish the past,
but sooooo look forward
to the future.
I can't wait to see
how much more she grows
in the coming year.
But it hurts at the same time,
that they aren't here to see her grow.

Doing the "Girl Things"

Today, AJIG & Mommy did all things girly.
We painted toenails
(red, for Christmas).
We used conditioner in the bath
(to detangle those pesky knots).
And we put AJIG's hair in her
FIRST EVER
ponytail.

A Dog Called Gigi

This little dog is AJIG's new favorite stuffed animal.
I will give you the backstory:

My grandma, AJIG's great-grandma,
passed away in May.
We called her Gigi for AJIG.
AJIG and Gigi had a very special relationship.
Although AJIG was a mere 7 months old
when her Gigi passed,
she knows who she is.
She reaches for pictures.
She talks to her Gigi in the photos.
She said "Gamma" the first time
we went to Gigi's house after she passed.
She loves her Gigi.

Now, my grandfather, Gigi's husband,
passed away two weeks ago.
We were at Goodwill on the day of his funeral.
My sister was showing AJIG different stuffed animals,
trying to keep her happy.
AJIG wanted nothing to do with any of them.
Until.
Until Aunt Sara held up this one.
This black dog.
This Ty beanie baby poodle.
She just had to have it.
She snuggled it and loved on it the whole way to the register.
We had the cashier ring the dog up first.
Before I handed it back to AJIG,
I checked the tag for the name.
And tears filled my eyes as I read the name:
